Unless otherwise agreed upon, the following are the basic specifications required of a participating institution/school/teacher activity centre/ e-community center for the purpose of conducting a Participant Teacher (PT) Workshop:

Minimum PC Lab Specifications:

  • At least 11 PCs with full Multimedia Kit
    (CD-ROM drive, sound card, speakers/headphones)
  • Intel Pentium MMX 166 MHz processor or above
    (i.e. Celeron, PII, or PIII)
  • 32 MB RAM
  • 500 MB free space on hard disk
  • 1.44 MB Floppy Drive
  • SVGA display
  • Operating System: MS Windows 95 or 98
  • Software: MS Office 97 or 2000 Professional
    (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ClipArt, Publisher)
  • IE or Netscape Navigator browser
  • Printer (preferably ink jet or laser)

Network:

  • All machines to be networked

Internet Access (shared ISDN, leased or 56K dial-up line):

  • On all PCs, or
  • A group of PCs, or
  • 1 dedicated PC

Power Supply:

  • Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for each PC with backup power for a minimum of 15 minutes. (optional)

Data Storage:

  • CD-Writer
