Official launch with the Ministry of Education
2nd November 2000 saw
the official launch of the Intel Teach to the Future program in
collaboration with the Ministry of Education Malaysia by Y.B. Tan
Sri Dato' Seri Musa Mohamad, Minister of Education, at Maktab Perguruan
Perempuan Melayu, Melaka. It signified the successful launch of
the program on a nationwide basis, and Malaysia was proudly proclaimed
as the first ASEAN country to implement this program in the South-East
Asia region.
With the support and endorsement from the MOE, the
Program had since been implemented in Malaysia for the benefits
of all Government primary and secondary schools, both urban and
rural, on a nationwide basis. Intel Malaysia's goal is to train
over 12,000 teachers nationwide by end of Year 2002.
Announcment of Awards to Participants
13 July 2001 - announcement
of the 13 winners of Year 2000 Best Lesson Plan Awards, and the
11 winners of Year 2001 Early Implementor Awards.
Official Launch with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA)
20th July 2001 saw
another significant progress of the program in collaboration with
Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur
Development, officially launched by Dato' Mohd. Mydin bin Mohd Sheriff,
Director General of MARA. With this, Intel has extended the training
program to include other type schools, including all 25 Maktab Rendah
Sains MARA and Kolej MARA.
Moving forward, Intel would offer this program to
benefit more schools, which are interested and qualify to participate
and contribute to the success of this program, in line with its
ultimate goal of promoting inquiry-based learning and the effective
use of ICT in curriculum/classroom teaching to enhance students'
learning and achievement!
